I’m an historian by training, having received my Ph.D. in American History from the University of Notre Dame.
My research interests are in Early American History, Religion in U.S. History, and the intersection of religion with politics.

In 2012-13, I was on leave at Princeton University. There, I served as the Garwood Visiting Fellow in the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions. I have since returned to the Twin Cities.
